Raspberry Plants have Biennial Stems and a Perennial Root System. The Canes are Erect Woody Covered with Small Thorns, Because of the way it Grows so Easily  it can take on  a Shrub Like Appearance and may be Considered as Invasive.  Raspberry Plants Grow Abundantly and are well Suited to Shady Parts of the Garden and will Spread Quite Quickly.



Raspberries Generally have a Period of Growth for the First  Year Producing Fruit the Following Year. 



The Leaves are Pinnately Compound, which means that there is more than one Leaf above the Stem and are Attached to Either side of a Twig Connection.
